ich möchte euch in diesem thread regelmässig über kommende MUSIK-DVD-veröffentlichungen (hauptsächlich von künstlern, die zumindest teilweise in den 80ern aktiv waren) informieren. den anfang machen 3 LIVE-DVDs:

ABBA - in concert VERÖFFENTLICHUNG: 29.03.2004

Am 6. April 2004 jährt sich zum 30sten Mal der Jahrestag des triumphalen Sieges der vier Schweden Björn, Benny, Agnetha und Frida mit dem Titel ‘Waterloo' beim Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson. Dieses Ereignis markiert den Beginn der Erfolgsstory von ABBA. Sie erreichten weltweite Aufmerksamkeit und in den darauffolgenden Jahren reihte sich Hit an Hit. Alleine in Deutschland schafften es 21 Singles in die Top Ten der Charts, neun davon bis auf die erste Position. Weltweit haben ABBA seit Anfang der 70er Jahre über 180 Millionen Schallplatten verkauft. Die Melodien zählen zu den unsterblichen Klassikern der Popmusik.

Das 30-jährige Jubiläum dieses monumentalen Ereignisses ist Auslöser und Aufhänger für eine Vielzahl an Aktivitäten im April!

DVD Description
Doctor Duran (actor Milo O’Shea) the evil character in the cult film Barbarella returns to earth, crash landing his time machine directly underneath the giant stadium in Oakland, California. He is bent upon doing battle with the 5 imposters above him (the band) who have stolen his name. The evil doctor sends out his henchmen to destroy them as they perform to a packed stadium. Duran Duran continue to perform throughout, as much chaos ensues around them.

Synopsis
A documentary type music video following their 1984 American tour encompassing 18,000 miles, and 51 shows in 79 days. 13 numbers including 'Tiger Tiger', 'Is There Something I Should Know', 'Planet Earth', 'Rio', 'The Wild Boys' and 'Union Of The Snake'.

DVD Description
In 1984, Duran Duran toured Canada and America. It was their first major tour as headliners in these 2 countries. Over 79 days they travelled approximately 18,000 miles and played 51 shows in 43 cities to over 550,000 fans. The entire tour was filmed for this behind the scenes documentary which offers some fascinating and intriguing glimpses into the fun, glamour, agony, ecstasy and ultimate glory of 3 months on the road. The band is shown thriving on the pressures, psyching themselves up pre-stage and then delivering their all to a thunderous response. The production manager, tour manager, road crew are frequently caught fraught with last minute panics and touring nerves. Hoards of hysterical fans are seen chasing down and beating on the band’s limo and with a camera placed inside the car it gives the viewer an insight into how loud and sinister that must have been. And in between all of this comes the great music. Sing Blue Silver captures the excitement and hysteria that was, and still is, the live Duran Duran experience.

bei mir ist es natürlich auch sports. ich habe lustige erinnerungen an diese platte, auf die ich aber hier nicht näher eingehen möchte:D
